Borderlands is a game series that I have never quite understood. The first game came out and, really, should have been everything I wanted from a game; four player co-op, shooting things, great art style, collecting loot and upgrades, unlocking rare weapons and driving around a planet running stuff over. It did not quite pan out that way for me though. It was a little dull, the shooting wasn’t fun and the art, while certainly unique, didn’t quite stand out for me in the way I was hoping it would.

I seemed to be alone in that opinion though; with the original game selling millions and spawning a series. Now we have Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre Sequel and The Handsome Jack Collection which is a remastering of the games for modern generation consoles. With these new console life cycles now well underway it is only a matter of time before we see yet another Borderlands game. Maybe I’ll enjoy this one.
